The Artificial Mirror by Sandy Skoglund
Sandy Skoglund’s work borders between photography and installation. She constructs and elaborates in colorful environments with strong references to film, theater and advertising. Skoglund has a Masters of Fine Art in painting, which might explain the development of her work as a hybrid of installation, art and photography.
The exhibition – The Artificial Mirror takes place at Fotografiska a museum that aims to provide an international center for the exchange of knowledge and experiences surrounding contemporary photography recently opened in Stockholm.
With its 2,500 square meters of exhibition space, Fotografiska is one of the world’s largest forums for photography as well as a complement and challenge to Sweden’s publicly financed museums.
