Natural Perfection Emerge in Desert Lodges

Posted by on May 2, 2011 in DESIGN

An architectural masterpiece of the relationship between a desert oasis and human interaction came together as Florida-based firm Oppenheim Architecture + Design has sent images of their winning design for a new desert lodge in Wadi Rum, Jordan.  The design was intended to keep quality and sustainability in a natural environment by trying to keep a sense of modest within the site.

Elegant and elemental forms emerge from the natural faults and fissures that are embraced and enhanced from the architecture. The accommodations are brought out in geometric cut-outs from the topography. This project seeks to create a smooth connection between man and nature.
