Hydroelectric Power Station by Becker Architecture

The classic beauty of a power station from the 1950s has been replaced by a highly efficient hydroelectric power station on the left bank of the Iller River. This majestic piece of architecture obscurely takes a shape gracefully and fits in perfectly within the beautiful landscape of the river in Kempten, Germany. The modernistic design of this architecture contrasts yet, harmonizes well with the existing environment.The plant supports 3,000 households in an environmentally efficient way of 10.5 million kilowatts. Designed by Becker Architecture, this curvilinear structure serves as a bisecting wall between the surrounding buildings and the river. It accomplishes it’s purpose of communicating well within its environment and providing a connection between using renewable hydroelectric energy and its method of harnessing that energy.
