Ever just go to the park and pensively look off into the distance. You may have realized you weren’t the only one contemplating life while in the park, but what if your neighboring company were metal statues. Born in Barcelona, Jaume Plensa is an artist and sculptor who is showcasing his first UK exhibit. Displayed in Yorkshire Sculpture Park these exponentially large human like statues are posed in a meditative like posture.

Formally drawing the human figure immensely sparked the idea of creating these sculptures. Created out of steel letters the central piece, “House of Knowledge” allows for people to walk inside of the structure and to become enlightened. There is cohesive admiration for the art and the surroundings as the majority of the sculptures are partially transparent and becomes one with the park.
