The terrifying notion that our country may slip back into a recession, or an even more horrifying realization that we never truly left, may just be a fact of life. No one wants to pinch pennies for the rest of their life, nor do they want to use their mattress as a savings deposit. But do you really now how deep our country has dug our grave? The truth of the matter is demeaning.

Wtfnoway.com has created a computer stimulation to put the dollars of our nations debt into perspective. Everyone knows what a single one hundred dollar bill looks like, but did you know that one hundred million dollars is just shy high of an average man’s height. The nation’s debt is $54,920,000,000,000 give or take.

The US’ unfunded liabilities is 114.5 trillion dollars. which would have stood taller than the WTC if it were still in existence. (The unfunded liability was calculated on current tax and funding inputs, and future demographic shifts in US population). The bulk of 114.5 trillion dollars amounts to fully funded Medicare, Medicare Prescription Drug Program, Social Security, Military and civil servant pensions. An amount the US does not have.
