Titanesland

Posted by on Jul 27, 2011 in AROUND THE WORLD, ART, PHOTOGRAPHY

Parisian, Lionel Bayol-Thémines was studying to be a biochemist until 18 years ago when his passion for photography took over his life. Thémines’ work pushes his viewers to question their view of society. Identity is something that Thémines focuses on because he knows the importance of questioning what seems to be in clear sight.

Everyone wears a mask in real life, but you never question the everyday life of those who entertain behind an actual mask. One of his recent series, Titanesland is a four part series that displays various people in lucha masks. Using the Mexican staple, Lionel creates society in a metamorphosed form.
