Stitching Concrete by Florian Schmid
A fusion of fabric comfort and the hardness of concrete have blended together to create ‘Stitching Concrete.’ Developed by German designer Florian Schmid, the concrete stools were created from a special wooden rack used as mold to form a concrete canvas around it. This tool gives hold to the material during the watering and drying step where blue, yellow or red string sews the seams together to make extra stability and reinforcement. The stool is removed from the mold once hardened and can be adjusted based on the different lengths, widths, and heights of the objects.
