Heavy Lifting

“Totems” is on display in Magda Danysz Gallery until September 25th. Created by french photographer Alain Delorme, these images were created during two art residences (supported by ailing foundation) in Shanghai throughout 2009 and 2010.

Fascinated with the peddlers in Shanghai, Delorme’s photos are somewhat comical yet ring true for those who perform this amazing task as a living. With the photographs set off from the everyday crowds you can get the clear picture of what its like being a peddler.
