The crisp beauty of the snow capped mountain peaks embraces a single family abode in Graubunden, Switzerland as it sits high above on the steep alps. The Lumbrein Residence designed by Hurst Song Architekten is clad with vertical wooden planks covered with a dark protective coat. The roof faces the mountain at a perpendicular angle to match the traditional architecture of the area. Spruce planks compose the central staircase allowing light to trickle into the lower levels.
