Floating Tea House

Posted by on Aug 28, 2011 in ARCHITECTURE

Shinning like a lantern hanging northwest of Washington DC, this recital room resembles a Japanese tea house. Created by architect David Jameson, this glass and bronze pavilion is suspended from a pair of steel arms among a bamboo garden. At night it comes alive, illuminating the garden from the lights within the floor.

The space is used for musical performances, dining and meditation purposes and its no wonder as this space is magically peaceful.

VERY VERY COOL. LOOKS LIKE POURED CONCRETE FOR FLOOR?..WONDERING IF THE STEEL I-BEAMS ARE OVERKILL HERE STRUCTURALLY. I WOULD LOVE TO MAKE ONE OF THESE WITH MOSO, BUT CAN IMAGINE THE WHOLE THING CRASHING DOWN. GREAT INSPIRATION THOUGH..KEEP CREATING!
