Cement Eclipses

Posted by on Sep 2, 2011 in ART

Metamorphosis of human beings have a place in the imaginative mind of artist Isaac Cordal. The project Cement Eclipes began in 2006 where he would create human models out of cement at 25 cm tall and then reproduce them using silicone molds. An offbeat transformation of human kind is represented here as man trades in his role of the citizen for one as a part of urban furniture. The metamorphosis can only be complete as the figurines hide in the streets, walls, and sidewalks allowing the urban environment to become their natural habitat. This abnormal adaptation of the transformation of mankind expresses the unique creativity that Cordal portrays amazingly in his work.
