Israeli-German designer Eyal Burstei of Beta Tank, a Berlin-based design practice, says that Beta Tank “uses design objects for social commentary.” He chose an interesting medium for the “scaffolding brut,” a project that “presents the possibility that these industrial, temporary structures could beautify and enhance the urban landscape in which they dominate.” Beta Tank is showcasing new work from the Scaffolding Brut project at the Victoria and Albert museum during the London Design Festival in September 2011. To mark this occasion, Beta Tank has made a limited edition of Porcelain Scaffolding Joints.
