Forest Pavilion by nArchitects

Posted by on Sep 14, 2011 in ARCHITECTURE, AROUND THE WORLD

The “Forest Pavilion” provides a shaded space for performance and meetings in the Da Fu Forest and Eco-park in the Hualien province of Taiwan. This project developed by nArchitects was created within the context of an art festival to raise awareness of a new forest that’s being threatened by development. The structure is made up of freshly cut green bamboo into eleven vaults which is the same type of material these architects used in the 2004 canopy for MoMa P.S.1. As the focal point of the park, Forest Pavilion was chosen to host the open and closing ceremonies of the art festival.
