Boathouse by TYIN Tegnestue

Posted by on Sep 15, 2011 in ARCHITECTURE

Once a worn out old structure, a traditional Norwegian boat house was transformed into a marvelous recreational summer home. Developed by TYIN Tegnestue, materials were reused from the shutters for the concrete walls and the footings as the internal paneling. Norwegian pine makes up the interior cladding which is a by-product from the sugar cane industry that results in gray patina. Simple steel fittings help open the shutters on the long side of this house allowing a flexible process for residential comfort.
