Cloudy House by LASC Studio

Posted by on Sep 19, 2011 in ARCHITECTURE

The cloudy house is an extension of a 1930′s home designed by LASC Studio. The home embraces a contemporary look with its original nature as the horizontally ribbed wood facade portrays the guise of the new roof. Large windows create a connection between the extension and the existing home as it allows light to enter both.

A wooden loft hangs over the new room by thin steel rods exuding a floating and cloud like appearance as light easily passes from the large dormer window above it. A dreamy atmosphere entraps residents of this home with the atelier windows of the bedroom loft offering a view to the stars and treetops from outside.

The over-sized windows allows natural light to enter the house during the day while the translucent walls light up the living room at night forming a harmonious combination of intimacy and exposure.
