Dancers Among Us by Jordan Matter

The spontaeous activity of dancing in the streets doesn’t have to be just for the streets. Photographer Jordan Matter compiled a series of photographs called “Dancers Among Us” where he captured dancing in all walks of life. Matter was motivated by the performance of the Paul Taylor Dance Company. “I was inspired by the dancers’ stunning combination of artistry and athleticism. Their commitment obviously extends beyond the rehearsals and performances- it is a way of life.” This collection portrays the dancers elegantly exercising their art form in everyday activities. “This speaks to the power of a passionate life; if you’re fully invested in something, it is always with you.”
