Berkeley Courtyard House by WA Design Inc.

Posted by on Sep 29, 2011 in ARCHITECTURE

The Berkeley Courtyard House by WA design Inc was created out of the basic relationship of water and canyon wall for the metaphorical root of the layout for its structure. Three wings connected by two breezeways were developed with one of them being open air and the other one glazed which brought in views of the courtyard and accentuated the mass of the primary building elements with its low roof lines. Two water features appear to extend throughout the home making way to the majestic views of the San Francisco bay as it’s set perpendicular to the glazed breezeway. Three distinct courtyards were created once the house was broken into three separate units. Twilight dining is accessible from one courtyard as its nestled between the main house and the guesthouse. This abode has delicate structural steel supports as its exterior is sheathed in zinc shingles giving it a unique look.
