Posted by on Oct 2, 2011 in DESIGN, GOOD CAUSES | No Comments

Created in 2010 by Julien Sylvain and Paris-based design studio NOCC, Leaf Supply provides NGOs and governments with an adaptable bedding solution dedicated to emergency and temporary housing.
Thanks to the use of cardboard, a material available everywhere, and to a network of cardboard manufacturers, the LeafBed can be produced close to the catastrophe zone hence minimizing response time, allowing larger amounts of beds to be produced and contributing to the local economy while limiting carbon footprint. Made of of 4 identical inter-connected modules, the Leafbed withstands a weight of 300 kg (661 lb), resists to 75 % moisture in the air and to temperature variations and can also be used as a stool or table.
