Surf Museum by Steven Holl and Solange Fabiao

  • Expressive features mold the curvi-linear shapes of the Cite de L’Ocean Et Du Surf in Biarritz, France. The collaboration between Steven Holl Architects and Brazilian architect Solange Fabiao created a museum that emulates the graceful curves of a righteous wave. The space includes a cobbled plaza over a concave roof that gently descends to greet the sloping ground. Two acid-etched glass boxes serve restaurants and a surfer’s kiosk along with the galleries in the museum.
