The Rubber House by Cityforster

Posted by on Nov 4, 2011 in ARCHITECTURE

The Rubberhouse by Cityforster exemplifies the simplicity of sustaintable living in a low-financed setting. The myth of spending more to gain more is rubbed away in this charming residence clad in black EPDM rubber over a wooden design. Cross lamintated timber is the predominant material of this lovely dwelling; it’s skeleton consists of a double height space under an asymmetrical gabled roof and a single storey structure cloaked under a shed roof.

The rubber skin covering the home protects it from future deterioration thus nestling the rustic charms presented throughout. Treated timber walls shroud the interior with warmth and comfort. The living room leads out to an outdoor terrace through sliding doors and is delightfully complemented with the fire place and open kitchen contained inside on the first floor. Upstairs contains a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe that add to the majestic allure of this abode.
