Philips’ Urban Beehive Concept

Posted by on Nov 16, 2011 in DESIGN | No Comments

The urban beehive is a concept design idea  for keeping bees at home. It consists of an outside flower pot with a bee entryway above it. A glass container full of honeycomb frames is on the inside creates the ideal condition for the  little buzzers to make their home. A pull to the string at the bottom of the hive will trigger a smoke actuator that will help calming the bees down before opening the cover to collect your fresh home made honey. You wouldn’t normally consider keeping a beehive on the second floor of your loft apartment in the middle of the city, but Philips’ urban beehive concept might change your mind.
