Fanwagen Beetle and T1, Facebook-Themed Vehicles

The ‘Fanwagen T1′ and the ‘Fanwagen beetle’ are 2 facebook-themed vehicles that Volkswagen The Netherlands will produce as a one-off edition, an advertising campaign for which two vehicles  are reinterpreted according to ‘facebook-related’ functionality so  the horn is replaced by the ‘poke’ button,  ‘made to grasp the attention of other drivers’. The door handles of the vehicle are labeled with ‘add friends’,  while a bulletin board ‘wall’ on the side doors of either model lets users leave ‘posts’ and even photos using the included  instant camera. the ‘inbox’ (glove compartment) offers a way ‘to store all of your private messages’ with the instruction,  ‘to remove a message, take it out of the inbox’.

Residents of The Netherlands will have until December 18th 2011 to enter the ‘Fanwagen lottery’ and take a chance to win. As per the price, . the ‘T1′ was selected in favor of the ‘beetle’ by almost 33,000Volkswagen fans to be converted into the one-off edition.
