Moais lamps by Ionna Vautrin

Paris-based designer ionna vautrin has created ‘moaïs’ lamps, a marvelous lighting collection consisting of both pendant ceiling light and floor lamps. Available in three different sizes with black rolled-aluminum, cone shaped bases, each of  the moaïs lampshades “petals” is silkscreened in several different pattern option.

Moaïs are the monoliths which are carved into rock on the coast line of Easter Island. Less monumental and more aerial, theses light sculptures have an almost human presence. On their conical feet are illuminated faces with different shapes, colors and patterns. These bright binnacle take shape through a succession of flat elements ready to be assembled.
