Huasteca House by FM Architects

The open, transparent elements of the Huasteca House lets the panoramic views of the curvaceous surrounding mountains enchant residents. It’s elongated rectangular shape looks as if its stretching towards the calm environment of the Sierra Madre Oriental in Monterrey, Mexico. FM Architects built it around a central courtyard that runs through a large double exposed concrete wall. This wall acts as a line separating the communal areas from the private while also shading the house from the glaring sun. The Huasteca House is slightly elevated on three sides creating the perception of a floating home. It’s smooth white and rustic gray concrete may contrast in texture, but they both work together in creating the perfect balance between clean and modern design.
