Located in the Val Tidone foothills of the Piacentine countryside of Italy lies a residence that lovingly interprets the traditional ‘cascina’ and barn type styles of the area. This contemporary home was built around a central covered courtyard which forms the core of the main floor living area. Park Associati designed the home to have a continuous relationship of comfort for residents throughout the year. The main floor includes a cloakroom, a storage area and two large rooms that are interconnected through large sliding doors. The kitchen and dining area almost work as one as they share a single space along with the living room. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms are situated on the first floor where the unique materials of iroko wood and local stone create an unusual and intriguing presence into the rooms.
