Steam Blower House by Heinrich Boil Architect

  • Remnants of the booming success of the industrial era reside within the steam blower house in Bochum, Germany. Once a part of the steel works system in the center of the city, it now serves a new purpose hosting theatrical events as a studio stage and storage room for stage equipment for the “Jahrhunerthalle,” a huge industrial hall for theater and musical performances.  Heinrich Boll Architects designed it to salvage as much of its original atmosphere as possible. Only a few additions like the new staircase and a large glass facade were incorporated to shed light upon the studio.
