El Deseo Hotel, Mexico by Central de Arquitectura

Posted by on Apr 19, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE, AROUND THE WORLD

The small Caribbean village of Playa Del Carmen in Mexico is not only a place where fun and relaxation intertwine in a harmonious dance of peace, but also nurtures the surreal experience of the hotel El Deseo. The soothing aura of this hotel will uplift guests to a true paradise . Its structure revolves around a main patio that offers a variety of atmospheres, sensations and textures for guests to delve into. Central de Arquitectura incorporated the cool colors of blue throughout the hotel to transcend a presence of calm to benefit the mind, body and spirit. Architecture and plastic art were combined to make a message in the pool which says “Away from you.” A wooden skin covers the facade and works as a filter and an opening between the patio and the rooms. The presence of pre-Hispanic culture is represented on the stairs that leads guests to an environment of mystery until they reach the central patio for more pleasures to come.
