El Deseo Hotel, Mexico by Central de Arquitectura

  • The small Caribbean village of Playa Del Carmen in Mexico is not only a place where fun and relaxation intertwine in a harmonious dance of peace, but also nurtures the surreal experience of the hotel El Deseo. The soothing aura of this hotel will uplift guests to a true paradise . Its structure revolves around a main patio that offers a variety of atmospheres, sensations and textures for guests to delve into. Central de Arquitectura incorporated the cool colors of blue throughout the hotel to transcend a presence of calm to benefit the mind, body and spirit. Architecture and plastic art were combined to make a message in the pool which says “Away from you.” A wooden skin covers the facade and works as a filter and an opening between the patio and the rooms. The presence of pre-Hispanic culture is represented on the stairs that leads guests to an environment of mystery until they reach the central patio for more pleasures to come.
