Den Uylpark Petting Farm by 70F Architecture

Posted by on May 10, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE

After dedicating our space to the unique architecture built for human beings across the globe, we thought it was fair to give some appreciation to our animal pals. Hey, our furry little friends need their comfort too! In Almere, England resides a delightful little home for farm animals. Designed by 70F Architecture, the structure is composed of a wooden box with an open façade that allows wind to easily ventilate the entire farm. Half of the petting farm is a stable while the other half includes storage, toilets and an office and more storage on the second floor. This Den Uyl park petting zoo is exposed to the environment with no doors and six shutters on different sides of the building. They open manually or automatically in the morning as a reaction to the morning sun and close by themselves when the sun goes down. At night, the animals learn easily when its time to be inside again.
