Giardinetta, Car Rooftop Garden by Manuel Felisi

Posted by on May 30, 2012 in ART, ITALIANS DO IT BETTER

A vintage and outdated car has lurked away from the world only to be brought back with a floral twist as a blossoming garden for a colorful array of flowers. Interested in the concept of the dimension of time, Italian artist Manuel Felisi gives the old Fiat Bianchina Giardinetta a fresh new life. He placed a hanging plant rack on the roof and imprinted floral textures on the abandoned car’s outer skin. Underneath the flowerbed, a moist world of bacteria and organisms now grows because of the rain water that seeps down creating a whole new atmosphere for life in an unimaginable place.
