House for Sale by FOAA and North

Posted by on Jun 6, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE

FOAA and North architecture set out to build a home using minimal elements that’s affordable, nice and ready for a small family to dwell in. The home was meant to be built as a home for sale in a remote location. It’s simple exterior and interior allows it to match against the calm settings of its environment in Calafquen, Chile. The house is built on a system of SIP panels (Structural Insulated Panel). An asphalt membrane, a solution monomaterial, covers the entire exterior. The pitched roof is vertical to the wall creating a double height for the public spaces. The stark black color of the outer walls mixes well with the yellow and white hues of the interior in creating a mild yet bright atmosphere for its future residents.
