The Social Network by Nicolas Ritter

Posted by on Jun 13, 2012 in PHOTOGRAPHY

The social phenomenon of Facebook has inspired German photographer Nicolas Ritter to create his own depiction of the popular site in his photo series “The Social Network.” He says the photos are “metaphorical photographic illustrations” that’ll give viewers a little laugh on the language of the social network. “I’m not trying to make a critical statement, but to make the viewer reflect on the weird modern online parallel world,” he says. As a part of his graduation project for the Offenbach University of Art and Design, these unusual images form a surreal perception of the social world we’ve come to accept and love. *Like.*
