Picture House by Fabio Barilari

Posted by on Jun 17, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE, ITALIANS DO IT BETTER

The rural beauty of the Picture House complements the vast hilly landscape of the Ripatransone countryside in its gorgeous setting of Italy. Architect Fabio Barilari designed it to “speak the language of the surrounding world” through its humble presence. The structure features a staircase that’s one-of-a-kind; its wide sloping steps and ramp offer the opportunity for discovery, experimentation and play. It also extends into the living room giving residents a place to sit, relax and become adventurous; it bridges the private and communal rooms together through its river-like nature. The windows take in the majestic views of the surrounding terrain almost framing in its still beauty.
