Nestled in the enchanting Marche Region of Italy is the bustling town of Montegranaro. This region, known around the world as Italy’s heart of creation for handcrafted excellence in glamorous footwear, inspired the Giannini family to found Doucal’s 40 years ago. Always evolving their materials, diverse and perfect styles, designs and techniques, Giannini’s second generation guards well the traditions of the “Made in Italy” elegant Italian craftsmanship while embracing a more contemporary vision. At the upcoming Pitti Immagine Uomo in Firenze, Doucal’s will present its last creation, the Mono Indian Moccasin. Its name comes from Lake Mono, County of Mono, California, a place well known for its productive and well balanced ecosystem. Presented exclusively in brown, the Mono is an interpretation of the original indian moccasin: its freshness and lightweight come from a destructured, unlined, upper made of 100% vegetable tanned leather, the insole made out of natural fibers (corn and kenaf) and the outer sole entirely made of caoutchouc.
