Wire Framed Sculpture of VW Beetle

Posted by on Jun 21, 2012 in DESIGN

One dynamic structural hybrid, the part sculpture, part machine Volkswagen wire project is one marvelous tribute to the 1989 Volkswagen beetle. Designers Juan Pablo Ramos Valadez and Karen Oetling from Guadalajara, Mexico created this piece of art by first sketching white lines above a dark colored beetle using window markers and masking tape. The wire framework was built out of iron and was then painted green so it could better blend into the environment. The front and back lights of the original car were attached to the wire skeleton to show a mental visual of the real automobile while still holding true to the unique ingenuity of the sculpture.
