The Del Popolo, Wood Oven Pizza Truck

Posted by on Jun 30, 2012 in AROUND THE WORLD, FOOD

The biggest food truck in San Francisco, or probably anywhere, Del Popolo serves to bring pizza to different spots whether be for lunch or dinner. The glass-encased pizza mobile featuring a  5,000-pound Stefano Ferrara oven imported from Napoli, is big enough to take up two city parking spaces. Wow! This massive truck is only sneaking around the Bay area for now, but will be revealed to the public next Tuesday at the Bar Agricole. After spending 15 years perfecting the fine art of pizza-making with the best of the Bay Area (Pizzaiolo, Flour + Water and Pizzeria Delfina), owner Jon Darsky strives to serve pizza from one place to the next. “My goal is to serve pizza all day, every day at different locations around San Francisco,” he says. If only he’d mosey on down to New York City too….
