Never have I ever seen a red swimming pool, but it sure is a complement to the breathtaking and magnetic nature of the Library hotel. Tirawan Songsawat designed it to blend into the beautiful terrain without disturbing the surrounding scenery. The 6,400 square meter hotel on the Koh Samui beachfront in Thailand has 26 suite-studio cabins sprinkled across the land. Views of the old growth trees and the vast ocean open up to guests on a separate studio space upstairs. Art work and the vegetation work together to create an environment of tranquility for one to feel renewal and rest. The vibrant red, black, grey and white color scheme contrast and join together in a fun relationship that adds to the captivating presence this hotel carries. Low slung rectilinear furniture welcomes guests to its comforting cushioning to let peace enter their minds while the gentle sounds of the waves calm them to a lulling state. The expansive library and the large plasma screened TVs also add to the restful nature flowing throughout while the Buddha statues and wooden shutters create a lovely balance between comfort, art and nature.
