Futakoshinchi Home by Tato Architects

Posted by on Jul 16, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE

The Futakoshinchi Home designed by Tato Architects is a residence of cozy settings and narrow space in its quaint location of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. This six level house has a continuous stairwell that goes through three floors with a skylight covering the top and has another one continuing past two floors above to the sun deck. The front entrance leads to a concrete floored atelier that’s next to a half underground bedroom with a paulownia wooden interior. A slightly raised floor provides a fun spin experience towards the rest of the house. It leads into a dining and kitchen area on the second floor, but can also go into the living room once the resident turns around, onto the stairwell with another spin and onto the third floor with yet another. Sunlight enters directly into the living room through three windows and also enters through the skylight above the dining room providing a soft atmosphere throughout the home.
