“Now I Know”, Wood Installation by Gyula Varnai

Posted by on Jul 16, 2012 in ART

This amazing wood installation is the work of Hungarian artist Gyula Varnai, created for the What’s Up? Hungarian Contemporary art exhibit in 2008. Titled “Now I Know” the piece consists of  a man’s  silhouette rendered only by using  logs and branches of different sizes and color shades. The pile spans the width of a room, about 33 feet wide, and stands almost 15 feet high. Viewers must distance themselves from the piece in order to see the human figure come alive on the surface of the wood.
