Crack Vase by Jacky Wu
Originating from a happy accident, Jacky Wu’s “Crack” line speaks to nature’s unpredictability. When Wu came upon ruptured—and functionally useless—timbers in a factory, he repurposed them into lacquered vases. With an eye towards nature’s disruptive power, he highlights each crack, with bright blue lacquer, as the vase’s visual hub. The splits—integral to this new, artistic context—are transformed from blemish to beauty mark.
