The depth is in the details with “My Better Half,” Amanda Jane Jones’ showcase for quirky loves. Jones, a graphic designer, photographs couples both together and separately, highlighting the personal idiosyncrasies that make their bond unique. To accompany the pictures—themselves decorated with crisp, white graphics that illustrate the subjects’ personalities—Jones’ offers textual snapshots: each “Better Half” is granted a list of three personal facts, as well as a record of how they met. In applying this bare-bones formula to a series of colorful couples, Jones documents the essence of each relationship.
