Saracen Trullo in Ostuni by Luca Zanaroli

Posted by on Jul 20, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE, ITALIANS DO IT BETTER

Italian Architect Luca Zanaroli breathes new life into the commonplace in Italy’s rural Ostuni Puglia (Apulia). His Saracen trullo, prior to remodeling, was an unremarkable, abandoned example of the area’s usual architecture. Revitalizing this plot of land sheltered by olive and almond trees, Zanaroli tripled the original building’s surface and built four new bedrooms. The finished product is modern oasis nestled in a traditional structure.
