The White Building by David Kohn Architects

Posted by on Jul 29, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE, GOOD CAUSES

The Olympics famously call attention to cities and their cultures, fueling tourism and introducing new, unique architecture; but David Kohn ArchitectsThe White Building uses a pre-existing structure to revitalize London’s arts scene. The gallery, events space, café, and artists’ studios are housed in an old Hackney Wick factory, at the outskirts of Olympic Park. David Kohn Architects won Design for London’s Olympic Fringe competition, which sought to link Olympic Park with the surrounding cityscape. Space Studios has acquired a 10-year lease, and hopes that the venue will prove its long-term merit as an arts hub.
