Morse Code Light Signal Transmitted by Twitter

Posted by on Aug 16, 2012 in ART

Students Kostantinos Frantzis, Ana Catharina Marques and Markus Schmeiduch of the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design offer a twist on micro-communications: their “Morse Code Light Signal Installation” routes messages through Twitter. Using Arduino, an interface that decodes and reformats information, two Copenhagen harbors are linked by signal lamps and iPads. Casual visitors to either site can instantly transmit their messages—though with a reminder of traditional maritime communication.
