Nigel Cabourn x Scott’s Expedition

Posted by on Sep 2, 2012 in FASHION AND STYLE

Almost a decade after his Limited Edition 1 Collection: The Ascent of Cabourn, Nigel Cabourn releases the line’s much-awaited successor: Limited Edition 2 Collection: Scott’s Last Expedition.

The most probable reason for the gap? The first collection, inspired by Sir Edmund Hillary (New Zealand mountaineer and explorer of Mount Everest fame), was released in 2003, while this second collection commemorates another significant event: the 100th anniversary of Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s ill-fated expedition to the South Pole in 1912.

The 12 piece collection—each produced in an edition of 100—is a culmination of almost six years of research and design, inclusive of visits to the Scott Polar Research Institute to see the actual garments first-hand.

Each piece, ranging from Army Deck Jackets to Seaman Coats, is intensely detailed, almost obsessively correct, and comes with its own book produced by Nigel himself.
