Chocolate has never looked better! The sinfully delicious candy from Beta 5 gets a makeover from Glasfurd & Walker, and has become ever the more tempting. Known for their high-end work in graphic design, Glasfurd & Walker tackles the challenge of designing a look that entices but still yields to the craftsmanship and flavor of the after-dinner treats. The bars of chocolate are wrapped in a vividly vibrant foil – each one color coded for its respective type – while the paper casing on the outside displays a simple geometric pattern and a stripe of that shiny foil to match. The angular patterns are a motif that appears on the box for Valentine’s chocolates and other items as well, as if the graphic encourages the buyer to break off a piece of chocolate and succumb to a sweet tooth. The name Beta 5 is derived from the form-5 beta crystal structure, the most stable of cocoa butter crystallization; but really, the science takes a back seat when it comes to the delectable product and attractive packaging. Beta 5 also produces baked goods and preserves, and the jars of marmalade and bags of caramels are in the same butcher paper brown, accented with chrome and white. For those who are counting the calories… well, this is a splurge worth spending. Buy here
