Oldtimer Calendar by Mirko Frank

It’s about time that someone took action against the mass-produced calendars crowding bookshops and convenience stores! German artist Mirko Frank brings back the novelty of the pictorial monthly calendar with Oldtimer Calendar, a series of twelve photographs as displayed in one of the handy timekeepers. Each of the photographs features a classic car – a vintage Volkswagen, a retro Rolls Royce – accompanied by an individual with enough style and spunk to match the car. Frank participates as photographer, editor, and car aficionado; his attention to portraying each vehicle from the proper angle to make the metal surface bounce and reflect light is well-appreciated in the colorful photographs. As an additional bonus, the different months in the calendar also deliver short descriptions detailing the history of the featured car.
