Cassette Relooking by Benoit Jammes

Posted by on Oct 12, 2012 in ART

French artist Benoit Jammes has taken old cassette tapes and reinvented them giving us a new way to be entertained. Cassette Relooking is a shout out to the generation of cassette tapes. Things were more simple then, listening to your walkman one tape at a time. In honor of big bangs and high tops, the collection has brought us a nostalgic feeling integrating glimpses of those days in the design. These pieces of art are so fun. There is a cassette tape that has been transformed appealing like a squeezed orange.  Another is like a piece of dripping nickelodeon slime. There are feelings of anger and destruction with blood stained across one framed tape. And yet another expresses a sense of humor with bleeped out suggestive sexual connotation.
