Pelt Chair by Benjamin Hubert for De La Espada

Posted by on Oct 18, 2012 in DESIGN, HOME DECOR

Pelt Chair, a piece designed by Benjamin Hubert for De La Espada, does not feature furs from any friendly critters but rather a “pelt” of a different kind. The chair’s solid ash body is covered in a skin of plywood, only 8mm thick, and this duality of woods is what lends the chair its uniqueness. The simple cross-linking of the front and back legs makes the piece smart in construction, and this perfect balance also enables a set of six chairs to be store one on top of another in a staggered stack. The variety of colors – a mint green, white, red-orange, and, of course, natural wood – are available for an extra punch of pleasure.
