Renovation for a Two-Story House by Studio GGA

Renovation projects are hard enough the first time around, but Studio GGA accepted a challenge to restore a two-story house to its former glory after a deforming attempt a few decades ago. The house rests within a quaint neighborhood in the Jardins district of São Paulo, and features a charming wooden façade that is mirrored in the interior furnishings. On the first floor, walls were taken down to create a more open space that accommodated a large kitchen for the cuisine-savvy owners while a new window brought in more light to the space. A second-floor overpass acts as a pinewood boardwalk to a private recreation space that offers both exposure to the gentle breeze and an aerial view of the mini-courtyard adjacent to the kitchen’s glass doors.
