International bicycle giant SRAM has decided to launch their second bike art exhibition to raise money for World Bicycle Relief.  These unique displays will go for auction at the 2012 pART PROJECT charity gala November 29 at the Cedar Lake Theatre in New York City.  Anything goes related to bikes, whether it be the gears or the wheels, the chains or the breaks.  Every artist has their own clever spin on this project, one with your name on it. Tickets are on sale online for $268/person.  Give generously.

World Bicycle Relief has found a simple solution for many issues facing those in less fortunate African countries.  In the midst of an overwhelming task to help heal these communities, they discovered a practical real life way to reach out.  Part of their missions statement, “Compared to walking, bicycles represent an enormous leap in productivity and access to healthcare, education and economic development opportunities.  The simple, sustainable nature of bicycles empowers individuals, their families and their communities.”  We are humbled by their enormous impact.  Just $50 provides a mechanic with tools and $134 provides a bike.  Be a part of the charity, go to World Bicycle Relief.

ABOUT ALLISON PARKER - Allison Parker is a proud stay at home mom maintaining a full schedule kissing boo boos and passing out hugs just because. Her days many times are spent between the garden and the kitchen. From a journey of learning whole food eating habits, she's taken on the challenges of baking bread, muffins and cakes from scratch and filling the cellar shelves with scores of her own canned goods each year. Writing is one of those things she does because its part of who she is. That and it's a nice break from the never ending work that comes with raising a family.
